Sr. QA Engineer

Looking for a part-time Senior QA Engineer

Central Time, 20 hours per week

Daily Meetings at 10am PHT, M-F; 9am to 2pm PHT schedule

Rates: $14 to $17 per hour

Key Responsibilities

● Lead Quality Assurance Efforts: Drive the quality strategy, meticulous test plan

development, and comprehensive test execution for significant new features and

enhancements for client-facing applications.

● Test Automation Framework Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust,

scalable, and efficient automated test frameworks and scripts for both front-end and

back-end components.

● End-to-End Test Implementation: Implement and uphold robust testing strategies,

including writing and executing high-quality end-to-end tests utilizing Playwright to

ensure application reliability and performance.

● API and Database Testing: Conduct thorough testing of RESTful APIs and backend

services, including data validation and integrity checks across Postgres and MongoDB

databases.

● Defect Management: Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects, working closely

with development teams to ensure timely resolution and re-verification.

● Problem Solving & Optimization: Identify and resolve complex quality issues, debug

system failures, and optimize testing processes for efficiency and coverage.

● Quality Best Practices: Champion and enforce quality best practices, contributing to a

culture of quality-first development and promoting testability in code design. ● Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level

QA engineers, fostering skill development through code reviews, knowledge sharing,

and collaborative problem-solving.

● Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with product managers,

designers, and full-stack engineering teams to integrate quality assurance seamlessly

throughout the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

● Continuous Improvement: Remain current with emerging QA methodologies, tools,

and industry trends. Evaluate and recommend new approaches to enhance our quality

assurance capabilities and processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications

● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent

practical experience.

● Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in Quality Assurance or Software

Development Engineering in Test (SDET) roles, with a demonstrated track record of

delivering high-quality, impactful software solutions.

● Profound proficiency in designing, developing, and maintaining automated test

frameworks.

● Expert-level command in writing and executing end-to-end tests using Playwright.

● Extensive experience with API testing tools and methodologies (e.g., Postman,

Swagger).

● Solid understanding of relational databases (Postgres) and NoSQL databases

(MongoDB) for data validation and backend testing.

● Experience with AI/ Generative coding tools (e.g., Windsurf, ZED)

● Familiarity with cloud environments, particularly AWS, and an understanding of how

applications are deployed and tested within cloud infrastructure.

● Proficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git).

● Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum),

and test case design techniques.

● Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.

● Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate

complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.

● Ability to operate independently, manage multiple priorities effectively, and thrive within

an agile, team-oriented environment.

Desirable Qualifications

● Experience with performance, security, or accessibility testing.

● Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into continuous delivery workflows.

● Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) in a testing context.

● Relevant QA or Cloud certifications (e.g., ISTQB, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner).

● Prior experience within a technology agency or consulting environment.
