Job Summary:
The Project Site Nurse is responsible for providing immediate medical care and health services to workers on the project site. They ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards, maintain medical records, and promote overall health and wellness among employees. The Site Nurse plays a key role in emergency response, first aid administration, health monitoring, and coordination with medical facilities when needed. They also support the implementation of health and safety programs in collaboration with the project's HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) team.
Major responsibilities:
- Emergency and First Aid Care: Provide immediate medical attention to employees in case of accidents, injuries, or sudden illnesses. Administer first aid and assist in emergency evacuation procedures when necessary.
- Health Monitoring and Medical Services: Conduct routine health checks and monitor workers' health conditions. Maintain and update individual medical records and health reports. Monitor vital signs and provide basic treatments as needed.
- Medical Documentation and Reporting: Record all treatments, incidents, and medical cases accurately. Prepare and submit health-related reports to management and relevant authorities. Maintain confidentiality of medical information.
- Coordination with External Medical Facilities: Refer serious cases to hospitals or clinics when necessary. Coordinate ambulance services and ensure proper transfer of patients.
- Health and Safety Program Support: Assist the HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) team in implementing health programs and policies. Participate in health awareness campaigns, safety orientations, and trainings. Monitor compliance with occupational health standards.
- Inventory and Maintenance of Medical Supplies: Manage the clinic's medical supplies, equipment, and medicines. Ensure that all equipment is functional and that stock levels are maintained.
- Infection Control and Sanitation: Promote proper hygiene and sanitation within the project site. Implement preventive measures to control the spread of infectious diseases.
- Health Education and Counseling: Provide health guidance to employees regarding personal well-being and workplace safety. Educate workers on first aid, disease prevention, and healthy practices.
Qualifications:
- 1 to 2 years of relevant nursing experience, preferably in an industrial, construction, or occupational health setting.
- Experience in first aid, emergency response, and occupational health programs is an advantage.
- Previous work with HSE teams or in compliance with DOLE/OSHC (in the Philippines) is often preferred.
