About the role

ASIAN FILIPINO (ASFIL) ENGINEERING DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION CO.' is seeking a highly experienced Social Safeguards and Gender Specialist to join their team in Manila City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that will play a crucial role in ensuring the company's projects adhere to international social and gender standards.

What you'll be doing

  1. Develop and implement social safeguards and gender action plans for the company's projects
  2. Conduct social and gender impact assessments and monitor compliance with relevant policies and regulations
  3. Engage with local communities, stakeholders and vulnerable groups to understand their needs and concerns
  4. Provide training and capacity building to the project team on social and gender-related issues
  5. Prepare reports and documentation to demonstrate the company's social and gender performance
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate social and gender considerations into project design and implementation
  7. Stay updated on industry best practices and regulations related to social safeguards and gender mainstreaming

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 5 years of experience in social safeguards and gender mainstreaming, preferably in the construction or infrastructure sector
  2. Demonstrated expertise in conducting social and gender impact assessments, developing action plans, and monitoring compliance
  3. Strong understanding of international standards and best practices related to social and gender issues in development projects
  4. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups
  5. Proficient in project management, report writing and data analysis
  6. Fluency in English and familiarity with the local language and culture
