Job Type: Full-Time

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Performs the suggested or requested examinations and producing images of good diagnostic quality, in line with departmental policies and protocols.

  2. Maintains the production of high-quality radiographs by adhering to the set protocols and standards and making the required modifications.

  3. Provided appropriate radiation protection to patient's attendant, family and staff.

  4. Provides a high standard of care, adhering to the most current emergency care, patient management, and other applicable clinical protocols.

  5. Prepares patients for radiological examinations by positioning the patient correctly, utilizing and adjusting immobilization devices when necessary, aligning equipment to the required position, and setting appropriate exposure parameters.

  6. Facilitates patient understanding of the procedure by delivering clear and accurate information, alleviating anxieties, and promoting cooperation through effective communication
  7. Ensures that post procedure instructions are provided to patients and the escort nurse as necessary.
  8. Minimizes radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restricting devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.
  9. Records necessary information of the patient and procedures done. Documents patients' care services by charting in patient and department records.
  10. Obtain informed consent from patients prior to their procedures
  11. Maintains confidentiality and right to privacy.
  12. Attending to the needs of patients, taking responsibility for total service delivery.
  13. Responds to call-outs whenever possible.
  14. Participates actively in quality assurance programs and film evaluations to maintain high imaging standards.
  15. Ensures operation of radiology equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
  16. Ensures the cleanliness of the assigned work area and promptly reports any equipment malfunctions, facility concerns, or damage/defects within the Radiology Department or designated area of responsibility to the appropriate personnel
  17. Complies with statutory, local, legal, and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation enforcing adherence to requirements: advising management on needed actions.
  18. Follows health and safety procedures.
  19. Ensures adequate inventory of radiology supplies by regularly checking stock levels, forecasting supply requirements, coordinating orders, and confirming delivery and accuracy of received items.
  20. Complies with statutory, local, legal, and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed action.
