Lighting Consultant

Your mission

Lighting Needs Assessment:

• Analyzing natural light sources, existing lighting, and architectural features.
• Consulting with clients and other professionals (architects, interior designers, etc.) to determine goals for lighting design.

Lighting Design Plan Development:

• Creating lighting plans that balance functionality (e.g., task lighting) and aesthetics.
• Selecting appropriate light fixtures, bulbs, and technologies (e.g., LED, halogen) based on efficiency, cost, and purpose.
• Incorporating considerations for energy efficiency, sustainability, and cost- effectiveness.

Technical and Safety Considerations:

• Ensuring the design adheres to relevant building codes and safety regulations.
• Calculating the appropriate levels of light for different areas (lux, lumen output, etc.).
• Evaluating the placement and type of lighting to minimize glare, shadows, and discomfort.

3D Modeling and Visualization:

• Utilizing software (e.g., Dialux, Relux, AutoCAD, Revit) to create 3D models and simulations of lighting effects.

Collaboration with Other Professionals:

• Coordinating with electricians, architects, and project managers to ensure that the lighting design is implemented correctly.

Sustainability and Energy Efficiency:

• Implementing sustainable lighting solutions such as LED lighting, smart lighting controls, and daylight harvesting.
• Keeping up-to-date with innovations in lighting technology, such as automated systems and energy-saving strategies.

Compliance with Standards:

• Ensuring the lighting design complies with local, national, or industry standards or other regulatory bodies.

You will report directly to Consultancy Services Team Lead.

Your profile

• Bachelor's degree in interior design or any related field.
• Licensed Interior Designer is a plus.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in lighting design or a related consulting role.
• A strong portfolio showcasing a range of successfully completed lighting projects.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to clearly articulate complex design concepts to clients.
• The ability to balance aesthetic goals with technical constraints, budgets, and energy efficiency requirements.
• Strong organizational skills to manage timelines, procurement of fixtures and materials across multiple projects.
