Position Summary:

The Auto Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing vehicles to ensure safe and efficient operation. This role requires strong diagnostic skills, attention to detail, and the ability to perform both minor and major repairs on different types of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems of vehicles.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake adjustments, tire rotation, and fluid checks.
  • Repair or replace defective parts, such as brakes, steering systems, suspension components, and engines.
  • Conduct road tests to verify proper vehicle operation.
  • Use diagnostic equipment and tools to identify issues accurately.
  • Ensure all work is done according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
  • Keep accurate records of repairs, parts used, and services performed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
  • Follow company policies, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or vocational course in Automotive Technology or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as an auto mechanic or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, maintenance, and repair techniques.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift heavy vehicle parts and tools.
  • Capability to work in various positions (standing, bending, crouching) for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work in varying weather conditions if required.
