Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to oversee cost estimation, budget tracking, and procurement support for U.S. construction projects. The ideal candidate has hands-on knowledge of U.S. construction standards, strong analytical skills, and the ability to ensure accuracy in budgeting and resource allocation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment
  • Develop cost plans, budgets, and estimates aligned with project requirements
  • Review plans and specifications with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to identify cost-saving strategies
  • Track and monitor expenses throughout the project lifecycle, identifying cost variances and recommending corrective actions
  • Prepare and review vendor contracts, ensuring favorable terms and competitive pricing
  • Support tendering, bid proposals, and contract negotiations
  • Manage and prepare accurate payment applications, progress billing, and invoicing
  • Contribute to value engineering and cost optimization discussions
  • Stay current with construction regulations, trends, and best practices in quantity surveying
  • Provide advice and insights on cost control strategies across various phases of the project

Qualifications and Skills

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
  • 12 years of experience in quantity surveying within the U.S. construction industry
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying tools (e.g., CostX, PlanSwift, Bluebeam)
  • Strong cost analysis, contract negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented with excellent time management and organizational abilities
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced remote work environment

Preferred:

  • Professional certification or licensure in quantity surveying or construction management
  • Experience working with U.S.-based general contractors or developers
