Accesses specific areas to run/string lines and install terminal boxes, auxiliary equipment and appliances by climbing poles and ladders or entering tunnels, trenches or crawl spaces.

Inspects and tests lines and cables, recording and analyzing test results to assess transmission characteristics and locate faults and malfunctions.

Measures signal strength at utility poles using electronic test equipment.

Sets-up service for customers, installing, connecting, testing and adjusting equipment.

Splices cables using hand tools, or mechanical equipment.

Runs/Strings cables between structures and lines from poles, towers or trenches and pull lines to proper tension.

Travels to customers' premises to install, maintain, and repair of lines and auxiliary equipment.

Cleans and maintains tools and test equipment.

Computes impedance of wires from poles to houses to determine additional resistance needed for reducing signals to desired levels.

Explains cable/telephone service to subscribers after installation and /or repair.

Accomplishes necessary service forms required per ticket/work order.

Complied with Standard Operating Procedure.

For Technician 2 category, added responsibility is to directly monitor designated team's day-to-day work and to report directly to Operations Supervisor.

Performs and completes other related tasks as may be assigned from time-to-time.
