Janitor

Key Responsibilities

• General Cleaning: Sweep, mop, scrub, or vacuum concrete and other types of floors using appropriate equipment.
• Waste Management: Gather and empty trash, and properly dispose of waste, potentially including specific manufacturing refuse, following established procedures.
• Restroom and Break Area Maintenance: Service, clean, and supply restrooms, and wipe down tables, chairs, and equipment in food areas.
• Equipment and Machinery: Clean and dust surfaces of machines and equipment, in addition to walls, ceilings, and fixtures.
• Safety and Compliance: Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, adhering to safety, security, and quality standards, including OSHA regulations.
• Inventory Management: Monitor and restock cleaning supplies, notifying managers when new supplies or major repairs are needed.
• Movement of Materials: Move items like cabinets, boxes, and equipment to clean areas, using hand trucks if necessary.
• Minor Maintenance: Perform minor repairs or assist with basic maintenance tasks as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

• Physical Stamina: Ability to perform repetitive tasks, lift and move objects up to 50 pounds, and work in various environmental conditions.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with various cleaning products, proper handling of tools and equipment, and relevant safety protocols and sanitation standards.
• Work Ethic: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time effectively to complete tasks promptly.
• Communication: Good communication skills to establish effective working relationships with co-workers and management.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure a clean and orderly workspace.

Typical Requirements

• Education: Often no high school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience: Has an experience with janitor position.
• Age: Must typically be 18 years of age or older.
