Editorial Assistant – Araling Panlipunan

Job Description:

  • Encoding/galley proofing of submitted manuscripts
  • Checking the manuscript submissions for element completion and curriculum alignment (if applicable)
  • Artlog preparation (illustration, conceptualization, and photo research)
  • Seeking permission for copyrighted photos, diagrams, and data
  • Assist with writing workshop, meetings, and other activities related to book development
  • Contributes concepts for the development of the appropriate cover and layout design of the instructional materials
  • Proofread laid out manuscripts for grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, and some probable violations on the Vibal Manual of Style
  • Countercheck the manuscript to proofread to check if all the corrections from the authors were implemented.
  • Flag possible conceptual errors or spaces in layout that should be attended to by the Development Editor
  • Coordinates with other departments involved, such as graphic artists, development editors, printers, and other production staff, to monitor the timetable for stages and meet the deadline in the publishing process.

Job Qualifications:

  • Graduate of BSE major in Araling Panlipunan (or any Araling Panlipunan-related course)
  • Preferably with experience in editorial works and or Curriculum planning, but not required.
  • Has good writing, grammar, and proofreading skills.
  • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply
  • Willingness to travel at 1253 Gregorio Araneta Avenue, Quezon City
