Data and Systems Analyst (Remote | 1099 Contractor)

We are seeking a Data and Systems Analyst to support Horizon Recovery and affiliated programs by turning data into actionable insights. This role is perfect for a detail-oriented professional who thrives at the intersection of data, technology, and operations, and who can help improve efficiency, compliance, and decision-making across departments.

Position Type: 1099 Contractor

Location: 100% Remote

Schedule: Flexible, with virtual check-ins and project deadlines

Compensation: Hourly or project-based (commensurate with experience) + potential performance bonuses


About the Role

As our Data and Systems Analyst, you will manage and analyze information from multiple platforms—including our Electronic Medical Record (EMR), CRM, survey tools, and outcome tracking systems. You'll ensure data accuracy, build dashboards, automate reporting, and provide insights that drive improvements in clinical operations, admissions, and alumni programs.


Key Responsibilities

System Management & Coordination

  • Serve as the main point of contact for system updates, form changes, and integrations across EMR and CRM.
  • Coordinate with software vendors and internal teams to improve system workflows.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Extract, analyze, and validate data from EMR, CRM, surveys, and outcome platforms.
  • Conduct regular audits of client charts to identify missing or inconsistent data.
  • Create automated and ad hoc reports to support clinical, operational, and strategic decision-making.
  • Design dashboards and visualizations that clearly communicate trends and insights.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Ensure data integrity through audits, validation, and corrective follow-ups with staff.
  • Support compliance with documentation requirements and HIPAA standards.

Operational Insights

  • Track and analyze metrics such as:

    • Patient acuity and clinical screening scores

    • Authorization trends & average length of stay

    • Outcome comparisons from intake to discharge and post-treatment

    • Lead conversion rates and reasons for lost opportunities
  • Provide recommendations to improve processes and efficiency.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Health Informatics, Information Systems, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in data analytics or systems analysis (healthcare/behavioral health preferred).
  • Proficiency in Excel, Tableau, Power BI, and EMR/CRM data extraction.
  • Experience with data audits, automation, and workflow improvement.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and behavioral health documentation.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of outcome tracking in healthcare/behavioral health.
  • Familiarity with survey tools (SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics).
  • SQL or database query language experience a plus.
