Role Name: Bookkeeper

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday (10 hours/week) Flexible anytime

Client Timezone: US and Australian business hours

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a bookkeeper supporting both US and Australian business entities in a flexible, remote environment. You'll handle diverse weekly bookkeeping tasks while developing expertise across different tax jurisdictions. You'll work directly with the business owner who provides comprehensive training and support, making this an ideal position for someone looking to grow their international bookkeeping expertise.

Responsibilities
  • Perform weekly bookkeeping tasks including posting purchases, sales, and bank transactions

  • Handle bookkeeping for both US and Australian company entities with different regulatory requirements

  • Process GST (Australian VAT) transactions and ensure compliance with Australian tax regulations

  • Manage US tax components and related bookkeeping entries with attention to jurisdictional differences

  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records across multiple international jurisdictions

  • Communicate regularly with the business owner regarding bookkeeping processes, requirements, and best practices

  • Adapt to growing workload as the client base expands through referrals and new business development

Requirements
  • Proven experience with bookkeeping for both US and Australian companies (MUST)

  • Strong knowledge of GST (Australian VAT) regulations and US tax components

- Experience with Stripe and integrations with Xero and QuickBooks (preferred)
- Knowledge of Profit First accounting (PREFERRED)
  • Demonstrated experience working remotely with international clients

  • Proficiency in bookkeeping software and financial record management systems

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and processing

  • Ability to work independently with flexible scheduling while maintaining consistent communication

  • Minimum 10 hours per week availability with potential for rapid expansion to full-time hours

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple jurisdictional requirements simultaneously
