Senior Steel Detail Modellers / Checkers

Mechwest is seeking talented Senior Steel Detail Modellers and/or Checkers with a strong interest in dynamic workflows, cutting edge technology and a supportive management team that care.

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Advanced Tekla experience essential
  • Minimum 10 years' experience on Australian mining/materials handling projects
  • Interpret engineering design drawings, standard drawings and specifications
  • Modelling and/or Model checking of structural, conveyor or platework 3D shop detail models
  • Excellent knowledge of Australian standards, fabrication and construction principles and methods
  • Previous experience in Prosteel(AutoCAD) or Advanced Steel desirable
  • Diploma of engineering or drafting
  • High level of computer literacy
  • A positive, can-do attitude and initiative
  • Self-motivated fast learner
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Efficient time management skills
  • Ability to perform independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently as part of a diverse international team as well as independently
  • Results-driven with the drive to go above and beyond to achieve a successful result.
