About the role

Our Good Deliveranz, Inc. is seeking a skilled and experienced Boat Captain to join our team in General Santos City South Cotabato. As the Boat Captain, you will play a vital role in leading our fishing operations, ensuring the safe and efficient navigation of our vessels. What you'll be doing

  • Safely navigate and maneuver fishing vessels, ensuring the safe transport of crew, equipment, and catch
  • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the vessel, including scheduling repairs and managing the crew
  • Monitor weather conditions and adjust operations as needed to ensure the safety of the crew and vessel
  • Coordinate with the shore-based team to optimize fishing operations and meet production targets
  • Train and supervise the vessel's crew, ensuring they adhere to safety protocols and best practices
  • Maintain detailed logs and records of all fishing activities, catch, and vessel operations

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Boat Captain in the fishing or aquaculture industry
  • Strong navigational skills and knowledge of marine operations, including the use of navigation equipment and safety protocols
  • Excellent leadership and communication abilities, with the ability to effectively manage a crew
  • Thorough understanding of fishing regulations, environmental protection, and sustainability best practices
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions in challenging situations
  • Relevant certifications or licenses, such as a Boat Captain's license or similar qualification
