Specializing in lighting control and building automation, the client serves a niche but critical market segment with a reputation for quality and reliability.

They operate with a lean, highly engaged team culture—everyone contributes, takes ownership, and works collaboratively to deliver results.

The Opportunity

The client is seeking a mid-level Estimation Engineer (2–4 years of experience) to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to:

  • Build specialized expertise in building automation within an energy-focused industry.

  • Develop cross-functional skills by engaging in both estimation and design work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage incoming project requests via a dedicated estimation email workflow.

  • Execute the four-step estimation process:

  • Monitor incoming emails and capture job details.

  • Upload client documentation into systems.
  • Download drawings and perform takeoffs using Bluebeam.

  • Prepare quotations and deliver to clients.

  • Create single-line drawings using Microsoft Visio.

  • Ensure accurate and timely estimations while managing multiple deadlines.
  • Proactively escalate potential delays early to maintain client satisfaction.
  • Support ongoing process improvements as the client transitions into structured KPI frameworks.
Requirements
  • 2–4 years of experience in electrical estimation, building services, or a related technical field.
  • Strong comprehension skills for interpreting technical documentation and requirements.
  • Genuine willingness to learn new tools, systems, and processes.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and escalation.
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam and Microsoft Visio is a plus (training provided).
