SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to join our Accounting Team. This role plays a vital part in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, performing reconciliations, analyzing cash activities, and supporting the month-end close process. The ideal candidate will have strong financial accounting experience, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform daily reconciliations of cash, credit card, and third-party deposits, and research variances with operations.

  • Prepare and distribute weekly financial reports summarizing store revenue, labor, and food costs.

  • Record weekly inventory adjustments and generate corresponding inventory reports for store locations.

  • Post monthly journal entries and assist with monthly accruals and financial statement preparation.

  • Review and analyze Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, addressing inquiries from operations teams.

  • Reconcile various balance sheet accounts on a monthly or quarterly basis.

  • Compile monthly and quarterly financial statements, including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Statement of Cash Flows.

  • Prepare and reconcile franchise royalties and advertising reports.

  • Assist management with month-end close processes and other accounting projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in financial reporting and review.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and complex formulas.

  • Experience with general ledger accounting systems (Sage 300 preferred).

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking abilities.

  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to perform accounting tasks with accuracy and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Willingness to adapt to evolving business processes and accounting systems.

  • Strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality of financial data.

  • Prior experience in retail or quick-service restaurant (QSR) accounting is highly desirable.
