Job Summary:

The Warehouse Engineer is responsible for designing, planning, and optimizing warehouse layouts, processes, and systems to ensure efficient storage, material handling, and distribution operations. This role focuses on improving workflow, space utilization, and productivity within warehouse facilities while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement efficient warehouse layouts, storage systems, and material handling processes.
  • Analyze current warehouse operations to identify bottlenecks and develop improvement plans.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for warehouse operations.
  • Coordinate with the operations and logistics teams to ensure optimal inventory flow and space utilization.
  • Plan and manage installation of racking systems, conveyors, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Monitor performance metrics (e.g., picking efficiency, storage density, order accuracy) and recommend process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
  • Support warehouse expansion, relocation, or automation projects.
  • Conduct time-and-motion studies and implement Lean or 5S principles in warehouse processes.
  • Collaborate with IT and logistics departments to optimize Warehouse Management System (WMS) performance.

Job Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Logistics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 2–5 years of experience in warehouse engineering, logistics, or supply chain operations (preferably in construction, manufacturing, or logistics industries).
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse design principles, material handling systems, and inventory management.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD or similar design software.
  • Experience in process improvement tools (Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen) is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
