Hotel General Manager Job Description
Position Title: Hotel General Manager
Position Overview: The Hotel General Manager (GM) is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hotel, ensuring guest satisfaction, managing staff, and meeting financial goals. The GM ensures that the hotel delivers high-quality service, maintains brand standards, and achieves profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operations Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the hotel, including front office, housekeeping, food & beverage, and maintenance.
- Ensure that all areas of the hotel are operating smoothly and efficiently.
- Staff Management:
- Hire, train, and supervise hotel staff, ensuring all team members understand their roles and responsibilities.
- Foster a positive working environment to motivate employees to meet performance goals.
- Implement employee development programs and promote a culture of teamwork.
- Guest Satisfaction:
- Ensure exceptional guest experiences by maintaining high standards of service.
- Address and resolve guest complaints or issues promptly.
- Develop strategies to enhance guest satisfaction and increase repeat business.
- Financial Management:
- Prepare and manage the hotel's budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Monitor financial performance and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Set and achieve revenue targets, including room occupancy, food & beverage sales, and other hotel services.
- Sales and Marketing:
- Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to promote the hotel.
- Build relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, and other business partners to drive bookings.
- Analyze market trends and competitors to adjust pricing and promotional strategies.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including fire safety, cleanliness, and maintenance standards.
- Keep up-to-date with local laws and regulations affecting hotel operations.
- Reporting and Administration:
- Regularly report to hotel owners or senior management regarding financial performance, guest feedback, and operational challenges.
- Maintain accurate records of all hotel activities, budgets, and employee performance.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in hotel management or a related field.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and make decisions under pressure.
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- Proficient in hotel management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Working Conditions:
- This position may require long hours, including weekends and holidays, to ensure the hotel is operating smoothly.
- The GM will typically work in an office setting, but will also be required to monitor guest areas and interact with staff across all hotel departments.
Job Types: Full-time, Fresh graduate
Pay: Php55, Php60,000.00 per month
