The IT Associate provides day-to-day technical support to ensure smooth operation of computer systems, networks, and IT equipment. This role supports internal staff and assists in basic installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation of IT-related systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, network devices, and basic servers
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and peripherals
  • Assist in LAN/WAN setup, basic network troubleshooting, and internet connectivity issues
  • Support CCTV systems, NVR/DVR, and basic IP camera configuration (if applicable)
  • Perform routine system checks, updates, backups, and preventive maintenance
  • Respond to IT support requests and troubleshoot issues in a timely manner
  • Assist in inventory tracking of IT assets, tools, and equipment
  • Document issues, solutions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Coordinate with senior IT staff, vendors, or service providers when necessary
  • Ensure compliance with company IT policies and data security guidelines

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or vocational course in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, Windows OS, and common office software
  • Familiarity with networking fundamentals (IP addressing, routers, switches, LAN)
  • Willing to learn CCTV, access control, and other IT-related systems
  • Good problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Skills (Advantage)

  • Experience with CCTV, networking, or structured cabling
  • Knowledge of Windows Server, Remote Desktop, or basic cloud tools
  • IT certifications (CompTIA, Network+, or equivalent)
  • Field support or technical service experience
