Project-based Video Editor (Social Media Focus)

Department: Marketing / Creative Reports To: Creative Director / Marketing Manager Location: Fully Remote Experience Required: Minimum 3 years professional experience

Position Overview

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Video Editor with at least 3 years of experience in producing engaging, high-quality videos tailored for social media platforms to be hired on a project based basis. The ideal candidate is passionate about digital storytelling, understands current social media trends, and can turn raw footage into dynamic content that drives engagement and brand awareness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Edit and produce short-form and long-form videos optimised for social media (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Repurpose and adapt existing video assets to suit various platform formats and audience behaviors.
  • Collaborate with the creative and marketing teams to conceptualise, storyboard, and deliver visually compelling content.
  • Add motion graphics, captions, and effects that enhance storytelling and viewer engagement.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all video outputs — tone, color, typography, and pacing.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality.
  • Stay updated on video trends, editing techniques, and social media algorithms to improve performance and engagement.
  • Organise and maintain video assets, file management systems, and project archives.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years professional experience in video editing, preferably in a social media or marketing environment.
  • Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and other relevant editing tools (Final Cut Pro, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of aspect ratios, resolutions, and formats for different social media channels.
  • Experience in color correction, sound design, and basic motion graphics.
  • Creative eye for composition, pacing, and storytelling.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to take direction and feedback constructively.
  • Knowledge of social media best practices and current content trends.
  • (Optional but a plus) Experience in animation, photography, or graphic design.

Preferred Attributes

  • Passionate about digital media, trends, and audience engagement.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and capable of working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Portfolio demonstrating social media video work (short-form, reels, campaigns, etc.) is required.
