Audit Supervisor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Audit Supervisor to oversee and manage internal audit processes specific to our construction operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in auditing with a deep understanding of construction industry practices, including project accounting, procurement, contract compliance, and job cost controls.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and execute internal audits of construction projects, ensuring compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and contractual agreements.

• Evaluate and test internal controls related to project bidding, budgeting, procurement, subcontractor management, and billing.

• Review construction contracts, change orders, and payment applications to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend solutions to increase efficiency and reduce risk.

• Assist in the development of the annual audit plan focusing on high-risk areas within construction operations.

• Prepare clear, concise audit reports and present findings to senior management.

• Coordinate with project managers, finance, procurement, and legal teams to gather relevant data and support audit processes.

• Train and mentor junior audit staff and manage audit assignments to ensure timely completion.

• Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in construction auditing.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, CIA, or CFE preferred).

• 4–6 years of progressive auditing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead auditor role.

• Prior experience in the construction industry or auditing construction companies is highly desirable.

• Strong knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., AIA forms), job costing, procurement, and project lifecycle.

• Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Viewpoint, or similar).

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
