Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager (Construction – Masonry)

Full-Time | Remote


About the Role

We are seeking 2–3 highly organized Assistant Project Managers to support Project Management and Field Operations for masonry and construction projects. This role focuses on documentation, material coordination, schedule tracking, vendor communication, and supporting the overall project lifecycle.

If you have construction industry experience—especially masonry—and strong project coordination skills, we'd love to hear from you.


Key Responsibilities

Project Documentation & Setup

  • Create project Schedule of Values (SOV) templates
  • Assist in managing and delegating submittals and shop drawings
  • Write and track RFIs using Procore project management software

Material & Procurement Coordination

  • Perform material takeoffs from project drawings
  • Order and manage material samples
  • Request vendor buyout quotes after job award
  • Build purchasing evaluators to support vendor selection

Project Planning & Tracking

  • Create CMU (Concrete Masonry Unit) buildsets
  • Develop site logistics plans
  • Build project schedules and duration trackers
  • Update Sub Count and other trackers weekly for all active projects

Financial & Change Management

  • Perform change order pricing including ASIs, Bulletins, and Field Changes

Communication & Meetings

Attend recurring virtual internal meetings, including:

  • PM Review Meetings
  • Deliverables Meetings
  • Field Operations Meetings

Qualifications
  • Engineering background preferred
  • Experience in project management within construction or skilled trades
  • Masonry project experience is a strong plus
  • Proficiency with project management tools, especially Procore
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills for takeoffs and pricing
  • Excellent organizational and time-management capabilities

  • Familiarity with construction documentation including:

  • Submittals

  • Shop drawings
  • RFIs
  • Project plans
