General Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable, secure, and reliable applications.
• Collaborate with (and occasionally lead) cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and software engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Write clean, efficient, and testable code while following best practices and coding standards.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues with existing codebase, and provide effective solutions.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and share knowledge with peers.
• Follow industry regulations around data security, privacy, and compliance.
• Optimize software applications for maximum performance, scalability, and security.
• Contribute to the design and architecture of software systems, taking into consideration factors like scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Actively participate in Agile/Scrum development process, including grooming sessions, sprint planning, and daily standups.
• Keep up-to-date on industry trends and emerging technologies, and suggest improvements to development processes and practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong knowledge of at least one backend language: , Python, or Go.
• Strong knowledge of databases (SQL and/or NoSQL) and ORMs.
• Proficient with at least 1 software development framework like Express (Node), FastAPI (Python), or Gorilla/Mux (Go).
• Good understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Github) and CI/CD practices
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment - occasionally in a position of leadership.

Experience

• 3 - 5 years of professional experience working on software development projects.
• Experience working with or building financial systems, payment gateways, or authentication flows.
• Experience working with adherence to data security best practices (e.g., encryption, tokenization, access control).
• Experience working using cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and containerization (Docker).
