Job Summary:

The QC/GMP Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all food products prepared in the commissary meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards. They conduct inspections, enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and ensure compliance with company policies and food safety regulations.


Key Responsibilities:

Quality Control & Food Safety

  • Conduct routine inspections of raw materials, in-process production, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Monitor food preparation, handling, and storage to prevent contamination and maintain hygiene.
  • Ensure that all employees follow GMP, sanitation, and personal hygiene requirements.
  • Perform product sampling and testing, including sensory evaluation and basic lab tests.
  • Document and report non-conformances, deviations, and potential hazards.

GMP Compliance & Audits

  • Enforce GMP guidelines throughout the commissary to maintain high food safety standards.
  • Assist in internal audits and regulatory inspections.
  • Identify and report deviations from standard operating procedures (SOPs) and implement corrective actions.
  • Train commissary staff on food safety, hygiene, and quality control measures.
  • Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and compliance reports.
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports.
  • Ensure proper labeling, expiration tracking, and traceability of all food products.
  • Continuous Improvement & Safety
  • Assist in investigating customer complaints and quality-related issues.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives for food safety and quality.
  • Ensure proper calibration of measuring instruments and testing equipment.
  • Promote a culture of food safety and quality awareness among employees.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in quality control, food safety, or GMP inspection in a food manufacturing or commissary setting.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP, FDA regulations).
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willing to work in a fast-paced food production environment.
