Position: Electrical Drafter

Position Overview
Design & Drafting

• Prepare detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and single line diagrams for lighting, power, communications, AV and switchboards.
• Develop layout drawings for lighting, power, and special systems (e.g. DALI, 1-10V, emergency lighting).
• Draft cable routes, and underground conduit pathways
• Update mark-ups from engineers, project managers, or site supervisors into final drawings.
• Produce as-built drawings for completed projects.

Standards & Compliance

• Follow client-specific specifications where required.
• Maintain company CAD standards, drawing templates, and symbols library.

Project Support

• Assist project managers with drawing revisions and shop drawings during construction phase.
• Liaise with site supervisors to capture "red line" mark-ups for as-built documentation.
• Work closely with electrical engineers and estimators to produce design documentation.
• Prepare shop drawings for switchboards, distribution boards, and control panels.
• Support tender submissions with preliminary layouts and schematics.

Coordination

• Coordinate electrical drawings with architectural, mechanical, hydraulic, and structural services.
• Participate in design review meetings to resolve clashes or layout issues.
• Issue drawing sets to WED Group Team

Documentation & Administration

• Maintain version control of drawings and ensure latest revisions are distributed.
• Keep drawing registers and ensure project folders are up to date.
• Assist in preparing O&M manuals with final drawings and documentation.

Software & Technical Skills

• Use AutoCAD / Bluebeam / Visio for drafting and documentation.
• Develop and maintain CAD blocks, families, and company drawing standards.
