The Reinsurance Staff is responsible for supporting the company's reinsurance operations by coordinating, processing, and monitoring reinsurance treaties and facultative placements. This role ensures that reinsurance arrangements are properly documented, premiums and claims are accurately accounted for, and compliance with regulatory and company standards is maintained. The role also assists in analyzing reinsurance data to support risk management and underwriting decisions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Treaty and Facultative Reinsurance Management

  • Assist in the administration of reinsurance treaties, including treaty placement, documentation, endorsements, and renewals.
  • Coordinate facultative reinsurance submissions with brokers, reinsurers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor treaty limits, retentions, and cessions to ensure compliance with agreements and internal guidelines.
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of reinsurance contracts and related documentation.

Premium and Claims Administration

  • Prepare and process reinsurance premium calculations, cessions, and settlements.
  • Track reinsurance claims and facilitate claims recoveries from reinsurers.
  • Reconcile accounts with brokers and reinsurers to ensure accurate recording of transactions.
  • Support reporting of reinsurance transactions to internal and regulatory stakeholders.

Reporting and Analytics

  • Assist in preparing management reports on reinsurance exposure, retention, and claim recoveries.
  • Monitor reinsurance performance and provide insights for decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate records of reinsurance data to support actuarial, underwriting, and finance functions.

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with the Insurance Commission (IC) regulations and company policies regarding reinsurance practices.
  • Support audits by preparing required reinsurance documentation and reconciliations.
  • Assist in assessing the adequacy of reinsurance coverage and identifying potential gaps.

Coordination and Communication

  • Liaise with internal departments (Underwriting, Claims, Finance, Actuarial) and external parties (brokers, reinsurers).
  • Support the Reinsurance Manager in negotiations and treaty renewals.
  • Provide prompt responses to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Actuarial Science, or related field.
  • Preferably with at least 1–3 years of experience in insurance or reinsurance operations.
  • Knowledge of Philippine insurance regulations and reinsurance practices.
  • Familiarity with insurance accounting, claims processes, and actuarial concepts.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with insurance/reinsurance systems is an advantage.
