Financial and Tax Supervisor

Assists the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in managing, monitoring, and supervising key finance functions including accounts payable, fixed assets, and budget control. The role ensures accuracy of financial data, compliance with accounting and tax regulations, and supports management in achieving cost efficiency and fiscal discipline. This position acts as the bridge between the operations and finance functions to ensure smooth, compliant, and timely financial processes of the company.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Financial Monitoring & Support

Ø Assist the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in supervising the daily operations of Accounts Payable, Fixed Asset, Audit, and Budget Control teams.

Ø Review financial documents such as invoices, disbursements, and accounting entries for completeness and accuracy.

Ø Ensure timely processing of payments and reimbursements while maintaining compliance with company policies.

Ø Support month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of reports.

Ø Coordinate with the operations and procurement teams to validate financial transactions and resolve discrepancies.

B. Tax Compliance

ØPrepare and ensure timely filing of all applicable tax returns (VAT, withholding tax, income tax, etc.) in compliance with BIR and government regulations.

ØMonitor and implement changes in tax laws that may affect company operations and ensure compliance.

Ø Maintain complete and organized documentation for all tax filings and related schedules.

Ø Assist in coordinating with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory agencies during audits and assessments.

Ø Identify and recommend strategies to optimize tax compliance and minimize exposure to penalties.

C. Fixed Asset & Budget Control

Ø Monitor the Fixed Asset Specialist's work in tagging, depreciation, and proper accounting of assets.

Ø Review and validate reports from the Budget Control Associate and support financial forecast analysis.

Ø Recommend improvements in internal financial processes and control systems.

D. Reporting and Coordination

Ø Monitor and record monthly accruals

Ø Ensure and monitor the completeness of the accounting system records

Ø Prepare periodic reports for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) regarding financial performance, compliance status, and identified issues

Ø Coordinate across departments to ensure smooth flow of financial data and operational information.

Ø Maintain confidentiality and integrity in all financial and tax-related matters.

E. Leadership & Compliance

Ø Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure compliance with finance policies and deadlines.

Ø Promote a culture of accuracy, timeliness, and accountability across finance functions.

Ø Support the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in implementing internal controls and policy enhancements.

Ø Execute such other tasks as may be assigned from time to time

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND TRAINING REQUIRED

ü Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, Finance, or related field. CPA is an advantage.

ü At least 4–6 years of experience in accounting or finance, with exposure to tax compliance and supervision of sub-units. Experience in logistics preferred.

ü Strong knowledge of Philippine taxation (BIR), financial reporting standards, and internal controls. Proficient in MS Excel, ERP/accounting systems, and government e-filing platforms.

ü Strong attention to detail, ability to analyze variances, identify issues, and recommend corrective actions.

ü Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills. Must be organized, reliable, and results-oriented.

ü Ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality of financial information.

ü Can work under pressure.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Reports directly to the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and works with all departments concerning finance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Php35, Php50,000.00 per month
