About the Role

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor with at least 3 years of experience in cost estimation, quantity take-offs, and project cost control for US-based construction projects.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with US building codes, cost databases, and construction practices, and is skilled in providing accurate, data-driven cost assessments to support architectural and engineering design teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed quantity take-offs (QTOs) and cost estimates from architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
  • Analyze project plans and specifications to determine materials, quantities, and labor requirements in alignment with US standards and cost databases (RSMeans or equivalent).
  • Assist in preparing budget estimates, bid packages, and tender documents for US projects.
  • Evaluate change orders, variations, and value engineering options during design and construction phases.
  • Support project managers and clients in maintaining cost control, cash flow forecasts, and project financial reporting.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to clarify scope and resolve cost-related discrepancies.
  • Participate in cost benchmarking and maintain unit rate databases based on US project experience.
  • Ensure all estimating work adheres to company standards, codes, and client requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably on US-based projects.
  • Strong knowledge of US construction methods, materials, and cost structures.
  • Familiarity with US building codes and standards (IBC, ASTM, AISC, ASHRAE, etc.).
  • Proficiency in quantity take-off and estimating software such as Planswift, Bluebeam Revu, CostX, or Excel-based estimating tools.
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work within tight deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills for coordination with multi-disciplinary and international teams.
