A. GENERAL FUNCTION
- The IT Manager leads the IT team and oversees the planning, implementation, and management of all information technology systems that support port terminal operations in a 24/7 environment.
- This role ensures the reliability, security, and efficiency of IT infrastructure, including terminal operating systems (TOS), applications, networking, cybersecurity, and end-user support.
B. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- IT Operations & Infrastructure
1. Oversee the daily operations of IT systems supporting port terminal activities.
2. Manage and maintain terminal operating systems (TOS), ERP, and other business-critical applications.
3. Ensure system uptime, reliability, and disaster recovery readiness.
- Network & Systems Management
4. Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of structured cabling, servers, switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless networks.
5. Manage cybersecurity protocols, intrusion detection, and compliance with ICTSI Global IT standards.
- Application Support
6. Provide support for business applications used in logistics, vessel/yard planning, gate operations, and billing.
7. Coordinate with vendors for upgrades, patches, and troubleshooting.
- Team Leadership & Development
8. Lead, train, and mentor IT staff, fostering a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement.
9. Develop succession planning and ensure adequate shift coverage for 24/7 operations.
- Project & Vendor Management
10. Plan and execute IT projects such as system upgrades, infrastructure expansion, or digital transformation initiatives.
11. Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Strategic IT Planning
12. Align MMT's IT strategies with PH IT roadmap and overall business objectives of port terminal operations.
13. Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency improvements, and digital innovations for MMT with alignment to Global IT technology intake policies.
- Compliance & Risk Management
14. Ensure compliance with regulations, data privacy laws, and industry standards.
15. Implement IT risk management frameworks and disaster recovery/business continuity plans for the terminal.
- Reporting & Budgeting
16. Develop and manage IT budget and track expenditures.
17. Prepare reports on IT performance, incidents, and project updates for senior management.
C. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1. Educational Attainment: Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (Master's/certifications a plus).
2. Eligibility: None required
3. Work Experience: Around 7–10 years IT experience, including 3–5 years in department management role. Experience in logistics, shipping, or port/terminal operations preferred.
4. Training/ Certification: None required
5. Skills:
- Strong knowledge of networking, cybersecurity, enterprise systems, and port technology.
- Proven skills in leadership, vendor management, and IT project execution.
