About the Role

We are hiring a Director of Cyber Defence to lead Detection and Response services across APAC.

Reporting to the CEO, this role owns the performance, evolution, and delivery of our Threat Detection & Response (TDR) practice, the core of our Cyber Defence business.

You will ensure the SOC runs with precision and speed, leading teams across 24/7 Detection & Response, Detection Engineering, Threat intelligence and Cyber Engineering.

You are a builder who aligns capability to market demand, ensures client satisfaction, and drives innovation that keeps Theos ahead. You are resourceful and ready to embrace the challenge of growing a business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the performance and evolution of Cyber Defence services, ensuring operational excellence and client security outcomes.
  • Lead 24/7 detection and response to deliver fast, consistent protection for clients.
  • Oversee SOC engineering and onboarding, ensuring scalable and reliable technology operations and processes.
  • Continuously improve detection, incident response, and service quality.
  • Act as escalation lead and trusted advisor during major incidents and client reviews.
  • Enhance and differentiate offerings to strengthen Theos' position in the APAC TDR/SOC market.
  • Collaborate with leadership on strategy, capacity, and P&L performance.
  • Support pre-sales and client partnerships, demonstrating technical and commercial credibility.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with our technology partners
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team across the region
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration across defence, offence, and response.

Requirements

  • Significant experience building and leading SOC operations within an MSSP.
  • Technical credibility, grounded in hands-on cybersecurity operations or Engineering.
  • Strong grasp of detection, response, and scalable multi-tenant SOC environments.
  • Proven success developing teams and improving measurable security outcomes.
  • Exposure to OT security and its unique detection challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills with technical and executive audiences.
  • Business acumen to link operations with commercial and client results.
  • Proactive with clients, anticipating needs and maintaining long-term trust.
  • Respected leader who motivates teams and drives accountability.
  • Growth-driven and resilient, thriving in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.
