Duties and Responsibilities
1. General Accounting and Bookkeeping
- Record daily financial transactions
- Maintain general ledger and subsidiary ledgers
- Reconcile bank and cash accounts
- Track accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Manage petty cash and disbursements
2. Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (per PFRS)
- Generate management reports (e.g., cash flow, income statement, balance sheet)
3. Tax Compliance (BIR)
- Prepare and file all required BIR tax returns:
- Monthly & Quarterly VAT and Withholding Taxes
- Quarterly & Annual Income Tax (1702)
- Ensure compliance with eFPS/eBIRForms deadlines
- Maintain and update tax books (e.g., Journal, Ledger, Cash Disbursement)
4. Payroll and Statutory Contributions
- Prepare monthly payroll and payslips
- Withholding tax on compensation (BIR 2316, 1601-C)
5. Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure timely submission of reports to:
- BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG
- SEC and/or LGU
- Renew business permits and update licenses
- Ensure compliance with the Philippine Accountancy Act and local regulations
6. Internal Controls and Financial Management
- Establish internal control systems for cash handling, procurement, etc.
- Implement expense tracking and approval processes
- Monitor budget vs. actual expenses
7. Liaising with External Parties
- Deal with banks for accounts, loans, or credit lines
- Work with legal or government offices when needed
