Duties and Responsibilities

1. General Accounting and Bookkeeping

  • Record daily financial transactions
  • Maintain general ledger and subsidiary ledgers
  • Reconcile bank and cash accounts
  • Track accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Manage petty cash and disbursements

2. Financial Reporting

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (per PFRS)
  • Generate management reports (e.g., cash flow, income statement, balance sheet)

3. Tax Compliance (BIR)

  • Prepare and file all required BIR tax returns:
  • Monthly & Quarterly VAT and Withholding Taxes
  • Quarterly & Annual Income Tax (1702)
  • Ensure compliance with eFPS/eBIRForms deadlines
  • Maintain and update tax books (e.g., Journal, Ledger, Cash Disbursement)

4. Payroll and Statutory Contributions

  • Prepare monthly payroll and payslips
  • Withholding tax on compensation (BIR 2316, 1601-C)

5. Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure timely submission of reports to:
  • BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG
  • SEC and/or LGU
  • Renew business permits and update licenses
  • Ensure compliance with the Philippine Accountancy Act and local regulations

6. Internal Controls and Financial Management

  • Establish internal control systems for cash handling, procurement, etc.
  • Implement expense tracking and approval processes
  • Monitor budget vs. actual expenses

7. Liaising with External Parties

  • Deal with banks for accounts, loans, or credit lines
  • Work with legal or government offices when needed
