The Medical City Ortigas is searching for an experienced Admitting Associate to join the team and help lead the organization to the next level. This role is responsible for end-to-end process of patient admission including registering patient identification, gathering patient information (including assessments, medical histories, and insurance coverage, and receiving and processing patient admission), providing directions and information to patients and their families, and ensuring that all necessary admission forms are filled out and signed.
This role reports directly to the Admission and Bed Management department.
What's The Role All About?
Job responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Responsible in bed assignment base on patient criteria such as diagnosis of patient, level of care, drip medicine particular to the unit and plan of care.
- Assist with Philhealth eligibility and insurance claims, as well as handle general administrative tasks such as answering phones, responding to emails, and any assigned tasks.
- Handles the entire admission process and observes the prescribed standards, policies, and procedures of the department and hospital by receiving bookings from physicians, confirming admitting privileges of physicians, interviewing patients, and entering patient information into the pre-admissions database
Who Are We Looking For?
An effective Admitting Associate must possess the following skills:
- Ability to handle entire admission process and observing prescribed standards, policies, and procedures of the department and hospital
- Ensure accurate health-related information gathered to patients, relatives, and significant others during the admission process
- Determines patient financial accounts and health insurances to ensure accurate classification of charging accounts during patient's hospitalization
- Facilitate discharge, readmission, and changes in admission requests from the attending physicians to facilitate seamless transfer of patient care services
- Establish effective communication strategies to obtain health-related information and provide education regarding the admission process
- Submit required admission reporting daily to ensure completeness and accuracy to be used in updating the hospital census
Ideally, a candidate must be a graduate of any four (4) year course, preferably with experience working in the same field/industry of hospital/clinical setting. The candidate must also be willing to work in a shifting schedule, including work on night-shifts, weekends, or holidays.
