Job Title: Automotive Technician Job Summary The Automotive Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles to ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities 1. Vehicle Diagnostics & Repair Inspect and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle issues. Perform repairs on engines, brakes, transmissions, suspension systems, and other automotive components. Use diagnostic equipment and tools to identify problems accurately. 2. Maintenance Services Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, wheel alignments, and brake inspections. Replace worn or defective parts according to manufacturer standards. 3. Quality & Safety Compliance Follow standard operating procedures and manufacturer repair guidelines. Ensure all repairs meet safety and quality standards. Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe. 4. Customer Service Clearly explain vehicle issues, recommended repairs, and service timelines to service advisors or customers. Provide honest estimates and recommendations for preventative maintenance. 5. Documentation Record repairs, parts used, and time spent in the job order system. Maintain accurate service records for future reference.
--- Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical certification in automotive technology preferred. Proven experience as an automotive mechanic or technician. Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, repair methods, and diagnostic tools. Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks. Good communication and teamwork skills. Physically fit to handle manual work and able to lift heavy components.
--- Work Environment Workshop/garage setting with occasional exposure to noise, fumes, and heavy machinery. May require weekend or extended hours depending on workload.
