About the Product Design Specialist role

The ideal candidate should be able to translate deep user empathy and client needs into innovative and functional paper packaging designs. We are looking for a graduate of Industrial Design with demonstrable experience specifically within the paper packaging industry. They must have a strong sense of user empathy, with a passion for creating designs that are not only visually appealing but also accessible and user-friendly for a diverse range of consumers. They must also have a keen sense for manufacturability. This person must know how to create designs that are efficient, cost-effective to produce, and minimize material waste on our production lines. We seek a candidate who is resourceful in material selection, proactive in exploring new design trends, and articulate in presenting and defending their design concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

A Product Design Officer duties & responsibilities are as follows but not limited to:

Product Development:

• Collaborating with sales teams and clients to define project requirements, understand functional needs, and establish design objectives for new paper packaging solutions.

• Creating rapid prototypes, mock-ups, and structural samples to test for functionality, durability, and manufacturability before full-scale production.

• Overseeing the development lifecycle of a packaging product, from initial concept and material research through to final specification and production handover.

Product Design:

• Developing detailed structural designs, die-lines, and 3D renderings for various paper packaging products like boxes, cartons, and inserts using CAD software.

• Selecting appropriate paperboard materials and substrates while optimizing designs for material yield, structural integrity, and cost-effective manufacturing.

• Ensuring all designs meet client specifications, industry standards, and internal production capabilities, while incorporating principles of sustainability and user-centric design.

Job Qualifications

• At least five (5) years of relevant experience in the the field of product design and development unless the candidate has exhibited remarkable results academically or professionally. In such cases, relevant experience can be less than five (5) years, commensurate with achievements.

• Must have comprehensive, actionable, and immediately relevant technical knowledge of product design specific to the paper packaging industry.

• Must have graduated with an Industrial Design Degree.

• Relevant Master's Degree is a huge advantage

Initial monthly salary range for this role is from PHP 25, ,000 and is commensurate to relevant job experience.

Please Note

• This position requires the employee to report to the main plant in Santa Rosa, Laguna from Monday to Saturday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

• You will report directly to the CEO.
