  • Basic knowledge of meteorological terms and instruments (e.g., thermometer, barometer, anemometer).
  • Ability to observe and record weather conditions (cloud types, visibility, temperature, wind, etc.).
  • Familiarity with weather coding systems, such as METAR and SYNOP (training may be provided).

  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Minimum Qualifications: In Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, or a closely related field (e.g., Environmental Science with meteorology coursework).

  • Must include coursework in:
  • Atmospheric dynamics
  • Thermodynamics
  • Weather systems
  • Physical meteorology
  • 1–5 years of relevant experience in weather forecasting, analysis, or applied meteorology.
  • Experience with meteorological tools, models (e.g., GFS, ECMWF), and forecasting software.
  • Experience issuing aviation forecasts (TAFs), severe weather warnings, or working in operational meteorology is often required or preferred.

Quezon City is a vast and teeming city with a steadily increasing income and occupation of one-third of Metro Manila's total land area. With an area of 16,112.58 hectares (based on 1995 GIS graphical plot), it is the largest among the sixteen (16) cities and one (1) municipality in the region and is almost one-fourth the size of Metro Manila.
