This recruitment pool will run for a period of twelve months and may be used to fill ongoing fixed term contracts and permanent opportunities.
Currently, there are two permanent positions available for immediate filling. This pool will be also be used to cover short term vacancies.

About The Role
Corrective Services Western Australia is the largest single jurisdiction in the world and is responsible for all metropolitan and regional public prisons across this expansive State. It ensures a safe, secure and humane environment, effective containment and custody and care and well-being of prisoners and their rehabilitation and reintegration into the community. The Deputy Superintendent:
- Contributes to the identification of emerging issues and the development and implementation of Department and local policies, practices, procedures and initiatives to achieve better management of a custodial facility.
- Provides leadership and direction and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the custodial facility.
- Applies and promotes the principles of occupational safety and health in the workplace and behaves and manages staff in accordance with relevant standards, values and policies.
- Leads, develops, promotes and maintains cultural change and awareness ensuring that employees respect and have an understanding of cultural groups, including the Aboriginal culture, society and obligations.
Eligibility
To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.

Pool Recruitment
This pool will be open for a period of 12 months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. Permanent and/or fixed term full time appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.
The Department of Justice uses recruitment pools to build a bank of talent for future opportunities. Applicants found suitable in this pool, may be considered for subsequent, similar vacancies, with the Department of Justice for the duration of the pool.
