We are looking for a Technical/BIM Specialist to join our client's Digital Integration Team. The ideal candidate must understand the value and quality of good design, and work well with people and a customer-centric culture.
The Technical/BIM Specialist must have a working knowledge of Revit and Enscape, a strong desire to learn, and not be afraid to ask questions, demonstrate the ability and desire to deliver exceptional technical support to Revit users of all levels. Furthermore, the BIM Specialist must be able to work effectively and efficiently within the project team environment, with experience in creating architectural drawings.
We are searching for someone who understands, has the willingness to collaborate across offices in multiple locations, has a sound understanding of the BIM360 suite of tools, and knows how to appropriately apply technology to our design practice.
The Technical/BIM Specialist is part of a team leading the client in its BIM processes by overseeing the company-wide use of Revit as a BIM tool. In collaboration with the overall Digital Integration Team, the Technical/ BIM Specialist contributes to and participates in the creation and implementation of Revit tools and resources in the office, as well as the scope and content of training and desk-side support.
In addition to being an active collaborator and contributor to the company's Digital Integration Team, the Technical/ BIM Specialist consults with active project teams regarding model strategies and lessons learned; and further uses those lessons to help shape and maintain, and implement office BIM standards and firm-wide resources.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Technical/ BIM Specialist enables this work by shouldering the following management & support responsibilities:
- Participate in all project phases, including programming, conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, and construction documents.
- Collaborate with the design team to meet overall project objectives
- Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, plans, elevations, details, and sections through to detailed construction drawings
- Provides existing condition modeling and project set-up support
- Contribute to supporting the BIM360 suite of tools and projects hosted on this platform
- Builds custom content for projects
- Acts as lead Model Manager on required projects
- Actively contributes and participates in the creation and implementation of Revit tools and resources for the office
- Participates in internal committees
- Assesses the local team and contributes to developing the scope and content for internal Revit training
- Consults with active project teams regarding model strategies and lessons learned
- Assists project teams with project-specific BIM Execution Plans
- Helps develop and implement office standards and best practices based on lessons learned
- Collaborates with IT and Digital Integration Team on rollouts of new tools, features, and releases
- Research upcoming tools and technology that interface with Revit
- Troubleshoot technical issues regarding Revit Architecture and related software
- Assists in Revit standardization through building and reviewing components, editing templates, and document creation
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrable experience with Revit, BIM, and AutoCAD
- Extensive experience with Commercial Interior Projects.
- 5-8 years of related project experience
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to multitask and work comfortably in a fast-paced environment
Creativity, enthusiasm, willingness to learn, and approachability
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Outstanding graphic presentation and written & verbal communication skills
- Creative, original thinking and technically biased, demonstrated through a strong creative and technical portfolio
- Proficiency in modeling using 2D/3D software, such as CAD, Revit & Sketchup
- Photo-realistic rendering experience with SketchUp/Revit
- Focusing on high-quality renderings for new client pitching
- Abundant experience in interiors
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Microsoft (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Deep knowledge and experience in Autodesk Revit for design authoring, documentation, data extracts, and project delivery
- Deep understanding of Real-Time Visualization development within the context of BIM, specifically in the use of Enscape with Revit
- Working knowledge of the use of VR walkthroughs and panoramas for client presentations, consultant coordination, and internal design reviews.
- Experience in collaboration within the BIM context, including cloud-based markups, consultant coordination, and clash detection. Should be able to coordinate with the Information Manager and project teams to assist in the development and implementation of BIM strategies, BIM Execution Plans, workflows, and processes on projects in accordance with the company standards and industry best practices.
- Experience in strategic planning, setup of BIM projects, and troubleshooting, specifically in the context of Revit and allied workflows
- Can work on a day shift with a hybrid setup
