Job Purpose:

To assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of pizzas and related food items, while maintaining high standards of hygiene, quality, and speed. Kitchen staff are responsible for supporting daily kitchen operations, following recipes, and ensuring food safety procedures are strictly followed.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Food Preparation & Cooking

Prepare pizza dough, sauces, toppings, and ingredients according to company recipes and portion standards.

Assemble and cook pizzas using ovens and equipment as per order specifications.

Prepare sides (garlic bread, wings, pasta, etc.) and beverages if required.

Ensure all food is fresh, properly labeled, and stored correctly.

  1. Maintaining Kitchen Hygiene

Follow strict food safety and hygiene practices at all times.

Keep workstations, equipment, and kitchen areas clean and sanitized.

Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and cooking tools during and after shifts.

Dispose of food waste and garbage properly.

  1. Inventory Support

Assist in receiving, unpacking, and storing deliveries.

Rotate stock using FIFO (First-In, First-Out) method.

Inform supervisors when supplies are low or nearing expiry.

  1. Equipment Handling

Operate kitchen equipment safely (pizza oven, dough mixer, slicer, etc.).

Report any malfunctioning or broken equipment to management immediately.

  1. Team Support

Work closely with other kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service flow.

Assist in maintaining prep and par levels during high-volume periods.

Follow instructions from shift leaders or store managers as required.

Ability to work in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment

Team player with good communication

Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety procedures

Time management and ability to multitask under pressure

Qualifications:

Essential:

High school graduate or equivalent

Ability to read and follow recipes and safety procedures

Physically fit – able to stand for long hours and lift moderate weights

Preferred:

Prior experience in a commercial kitchen or pizza outlet

Basic food handling or hygiene certification (if required by local law)
