About the Role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to help build and maintain our networking, security, and observability systems. You will work hands-on with Linux networking, security tools, and monitoring platforms while writing clean, efficient code and supporting automation. This role is ideal for someone with solid software development experience who enjoys problem-solving in a technical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain software components for networking, security, and monitoring.

  • Implement and support IDS/IPS tools such as Suricata or Snort.

  • Build and optimize monitoring dashboards with Prometheus, Grafana, and Node-RED.

  • Automate deployments and workflows using Python, Bash, Ansible, or Terraform.

  • Develop logging and alerting pipelines for system health, performance, and threat detection.

  • Troubleshoot, test, and document systems for stability, security, and performance.

  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

  • Contribute to system architecture and design discussions.

  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.

  • Conduct system testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of networking and security features.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers.

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 3–5 years of experience in software development.

  • Strong skills in Python, C/C++, or Go, plus scripting with Bash.

  • Understanding of databases (SQL and/or NoSQL).

  • Familiarity with software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum).

  • Good understanding of Linux networking (nftables, routing, VLANs, bridging).

  • Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Node-RED).

  • Familiarity with IDS/IPS tools (Suricata, Snort).

  • Knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes and CI/CD workflows.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Wazuh or similar security monitoring platforms.

  • Familiarity with systemd or NetworkManager.

  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for hybrid deployments.

  • Background in hardware/software integration with NICs and embedded boards.

  • Open-source contributions in security, networking, or monitoring.
