Job Overview
We are seeking a seasoned and detail-oriented
Senior Property Accountant
to join our team. This role requires advanced expertise in financial reporting, analysis, and compliance, combined with a willingness to handle day-to-day accounting tasks such as bookkeeping, transaction recording, and reconciliations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing both strategic accounting functions and operational responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to support decision-making.
  • Develop budgets and forecasts, providing financial insights to stakeholders.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.

Audit And Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal accounting regulations.
  • Prepare for and assist with internal and external audits, maintaining comprehensive records.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial data.

Collaboration And Communication

  • Work closely with management and stakeholders to provide financial updates and insights.
  • Support the team with ad hoc accounting tasks and special projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, including advanced financial reporting and hands-on bookkeeping.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to perform both senior-level accounting functions and routine bookkeeping tasks.
  • Professional, proactive, and adaptable to a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • CPA qualification or equivalent is preferred but not required.
  • Corporate accounting experience in real estate and property management is a must.
  • Yardi/AppFolio experience is preferred but not required.
  • Comfortable with screen sharing and being on a video call for the entire shift.
