An on-call barista prepares and serves hot/cold beverages, takes orders, operates the POS system, maintains a clean workspace, and handles payments, all while being available for last-minute shifts or to cover operational needs. The role requires a flexible schedule, strong customer service skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and good communication skills for taking orders and assisting customers with recommendations. Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Greet customers, take orders, provide recommendations, and handle payments accurately using the POS system.
- Beverage Preparation: Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, tea, and other beverages according to company recipes and standards.
- Workstation Maintenance: Keep the work environment, including the coffee bar and equipment, clean, sanitary, and organized.
- Stocking & Inventory: Restock supplies such as cups, lids, beans, and pastries, and monitor inventory levels.
- Promotions & Sales: Promote new drinks and pastries, upsell products, and educate customers about menu items and specials.
- Flexibility: Be available to work various shifts on short notice, often during peak hours, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: Previous barista or food service experience is often preferred but may not always be required, as full training can be provided.
- Customer Service: A polite and engaging personality with excellent verbal communication skills.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using a Point-of-Sale (POS) system for transactions.
- Operational Skills: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, maintain composure under pressure, and handle operational needs during busy periods.
- Teamwork: A willingness to be a team player and pitch in where needed.
Job Type: Part-time
