Job Summary:

The Head Cashier is responsible for overseeing all cashiering operations within the hospital, ensuring accurate and efficient handling of patient payments, billing transactions, and financial records. This role supervises cashier staff, maintains compliance with hospital financial policies, and ensures excellent customer service in all monetary interactions. The Head Cashier also collaborates with the accounting and billing departments to reconcile daily collections and resolve discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of cashier staff.
  • Ensure accurate processing of patient payments (cash, card, insurance, etc.).
  • Monitor and reconcile daily cash collections and deposits.
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.
  • Train new cashiers and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital financial policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of financial transactions and patient information.
  • Assist in audits and financial reviews as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least 3–5 years of experience in cashiering or financial operations, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of billing systems, POS terminals, and financial software.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
