Generally responsible for managing the entire mine operations organization in line with the management set goals and objective.

As the person responsible for the overall direction, control and supervision of the mining operations:

  • Provide technical assistance and guidelines to the mine engineering group to ensure a mine plan that is workable on the ground and meeting shipment plan for the year.
  • Monitors the proper and efficient implementation of mining plans, programs, projects, and activities and ensures that such is in line with Company's objectives.
  • Ensures that all mining activities/ operations follows the related government regulations and laws.
  • Ensures that all contracts are being managed in accordance with the company standards.
  • Develops and establishes strategies that ensures continuous production as planned and/or provide strategies to adopt to existing pit conditions to meet production targets. Ensures that mine operations is aligned with all these operational plans and strategies.
  • Provide technical and support to all other departments to achieve targets and goals for the year.
  • Ensure that all permitting, and approvals required by the site are in place timely
  • Manages the day-to-day operation of the mine site.
  • As the highest on-site official:
  • Oversees the Safety and Health Office and ensures rules and regulation embodied under the Mine Safety and Health Standards and chairs the Central Safety and Health Committee.
  • Oversees the Mine Environmental Protection and Enhancement Office and provide technical assistance and advises to Environmental groups to ensure compliance with our standards and government requirements
  • Oversees the Community Relations Office and ensures good relationships with the LGUs, IPs/ICC and with the host and neighboring communities affected by the mining operations.
  • Confirms the Three-Year Development/Utilization Work Program and ensures its corresponding implementation.
  • Represents the Company on external affairs, whenever applicable.
  • Signs mandatory and regular reports and external letters/documents, whenever applicable.
  • QUALIFICATIONS
  • Licensed Mining Engineer
  • with more than ten (10) years of relevant experience in mining operations (e.g. mine engineering, development, production) preferably with at least 5 years experience in nickel laterite operation
  • with at least 5 years experience in planning, leading, organizing and controlling or managerial position;
