About the role

As a Payroll Clerk, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for SOUTHERN ARMS CORPORATION' employees based in Cagayan de Oro, Misamis Oriental. This full-time position is an integral part of the Accounting team, responsible for maintaining employee records, calculating wages, and managing payroll-related compliance.

What you'll be doing

  1. Accurately process bi-weekly payroll, including calculating gross and net pay, withholdings, and deductions
  2. Maintain employee records, including personal information, time and attendance, and payroll history
  3. Ensure compliance with all applicable payroll regulations, including tax requirements and labour laws
  4. Reconcile payroll accounts and generate detailed reports
  5. Assist with the preparation of year-end tax forms and other payroll-related documentation
  6. Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits in a timely and professional manner
  7. Collaborate with the Accounting team to improve payroll processes and implement best practices

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 2 years of experience in a payroll or accounting role, preferably in the Accounting industry
  2. Strong knowledge of payroll processing, including calculating withholdings, deductions, and other payroll-related calculations
  3. Proficient in using payroll software and spreadsheet applications, such as Microsoft Excel
  4. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  5. Effective communication and customer service skills
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  7. Familiarity with relevant payroll and labour regulations in the Philippines
