Teresa, Philippines Delta Earthmoving Inc. Full time ₱1,200,000 - ₱3,600,000 per year

Purpose of the Position:

Directly reporting to the Project Manager and HSE Deputy Manager on site. Safety Engineer assists in the formulation, development, implementation, and enforcement of all Safety, Health, and Environmental standard operating procedure (SOP), Safe work instructions (SWI), plans, and programs for Quarry Projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and apply knowledge of the DEI health and safety policies, client regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Identify and correct potential hazards by inspecting project site facilities, equipment, and machinery, as well as safety equipment on-site;
  • Review and submit project safety statistics, weekly, monthly MGAR, quarterly and annual required EHS reports within the respective time frame.
  • Review and ensure that incident registries are updated and follow-up closures of corrective action.
  • Monitor and update PPE inventories, fill-out requests, and follow up to ensure sufficient PPE supplies are available on site.
  • Conduct internal ESH training, Emergency drills and evaluate the effectiveness of following the company's EHS, Client, and legal standards.
  • Ensure that daily production and maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations, especially after an inspection that requires changes.
  • Install safety devices on equipment, and the machinery installed are tested and maintained or recommend the installation of these devices or safeguard
  • Review employee safety programs and recommend improvements.
  • Conduct monthly fire extinguishers, fire alarms, lifting gears, chemicals, and materials storage to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Develops and reviews SWIs and assists in developing other safety procedures for all equipment on site.
  • Drive full implementation of safety, health, and environment management systems, procedures, guidelines, standards, frameworks, and programs to help create and sustain a culture wherein all employees and contractors work responsibly and perform roles without risk of injury, disease, or death.
  • Effectively manage high hazard activities;
  • Organize and maintain an effective emergency response team on site.
  • Promote health and well-being of employees and support health programs preventing occupational illnesses.
  • Promote environment management programs and prevent environmental incidents.
  • Ensure that the project has efficient controls in place to ensure ongoing compliance with relevant internal and external workplace safety & health standards and reporting requirements.
  • Perform other related environmental, safety, and health functions.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Must have a bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, preferably a licensed Engineer
  • At least two (2) years of related experience in mining, quarry, construction, or other related activities
  • Mines and Geoscience Bureau (MGB) and Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) accredited.
