Job Summary:
We are seeking a Purchasing Officer with experience in the food and beverage industry, specifically handling kitchen ingredients and restaurant supplies. This role is responsible for managing all back-of-house procurement—ensuring our kitchen operates with top-quality ingredients and essentials. The ideal candidate should also have experience leading or supervising a team, with excellent coordination and negotiation skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle end-to-end procurement of all kitchen ingredients, food items, cleaning materials, and restaurant consumables.
- Work closely with the head chef and kitchen team to understand inventory needs and ensure timely delivery of supplies.
- Supervise and coordinate with stockroom staff or team members handling deliveries and storage.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with food suppliers, ensuring product quality and cost-efficiency.
- Negotiate with vendors regarding pricing, credit terms, and delivery schedules.
- Monitor stock levels, track consumption, and avoid overstocking or shortages.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and assist in reconciling inventory with accounting.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and procurement standards.
- Stay updated on ingredient trends, pricing fluctuations, and supplier reliability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of purchasing experience in a restaurant, hotel, or food service operation.
- Proven experience in supervising or managing a team in an operations or procurement role.
- Familiarity with kitchen operations, ingredients, and F&B supply chain processes.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and inventory or purchasing systems.
- Trustworthy, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.
- Willing to work on-site in Paco, Manila.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Php20, Php25,000.00 per month
