Cardiovascular Sonographer

Under the supervision of a cardiologist, the Cardiovascular Sonographer coordinates and participates in a variety of duties involved in the operation of echocardiography equipment to obtain and record two-dimensional and M-mode graphic representations of the heart utilizing high frequency sound waves to assist physicians in the diagnosis of cardiovascular malfunctions, malformations, and abnormalities. S/He works closely with cardiologists, often performing the technical aspects of the examinations and reporting these to the cardiologists.

Also, the incumbent provides patient care, such as preparation of patients for the sonographic imaging and provides them with instruction during the echocardiograph so that the images turn out properly as required. S/He effectively interacts with patients, significant others, and other health team members while maintaining the Chong Hua Medical Mall standards and protocols.

The incumbent also participates in implementing safety protocols and standards in the section.

Qualifications

• A graduate of Bachelor's degree in any 4-year course in allied medicine.
• A valid license from the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) as a Registered Nurse, Med. Tech., Rad Tech., etc. is an advantage.
• With 0 – 3 years of working experience in Ancillary Services, or with medical related specialization (Med. Tech, Rad. Tech, etc.)
• With BLS or Hands-on CPR Certification is an advantage.
• Healthcare industry experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated understanding of basic corporate office software, including Microsoft Office 365 applications.
• Effective communication skills. Proficiency in the Visayan dialect and/or Tagalog is required; ability to communicate well in English is an advantage.
