About the role . . .

The Senior Accountant will be working closely with the client to support the business and manage the following tasks:

  • Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS) for clients.
  • Ensure compliance with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) regulations and deadlines.
  • Reconcile accounts and prepare financial statements.
  • Provide advice on GST, PAYG, and other tax-related matters.
  • Assist clients with bookkeeping and accounting tasks.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Liaise with the ATO on behalf of clients regarding BAS-related issues.
  • Provide training and support to clients on accounting software and BAS preparation.
  • Stay updated with changes in tax laws and regulations.

Qualifications / Skills:

We are looking for an A-star individual, passionate and competent with what they do and bringing the WOW with the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as MYOB, Xero, or QuickBooks.
  • Strong understanding and experience of BAS, IAS, GST, PAYG, and other tax obligations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple clients.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Have experience in XERO tax software for the preparation of company, individual, partnership and trust tax returns
