DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Renal / Dialysis technician

a. Prepares the hemodialysis machines to be used by schedules patient by disinfecting and rinsing the machines before the actual procedures.

b. Primes the dialyzer and bloodlines of each patient before the procedures as situation calls for it.

c. Assists the machine technician in setting the alarm set and by constant monitoring of the other parameters of a hemodialysis machine.

d. Rinses, disinfects and stores the dialyzer after dialysis ensuring proper documentation/labelling in accordance with policies on re-use.

e. Disinfects hemodialysis machine after hemodialysis with the recommended disinfectants to prevent cross-contamination of the patient

f. Assists the nurses in starting terminating the dialysis procedure to facilitate the smooth flow of work based on operating manual of procedure.

g. Assists the nurse rendering patient care, but not in administering any drugs, to able to meet the needs and demands of the patient especially during busy hours.

h. Assures the availability of supplies for everyday use and coordinates with his immediate supervisor.

i. Performs errands and other related task necessary for the smooth operation of the center.
