The Medical City Ortigas is searching for an experienced Medical Physicist to join the team and help lead the organization to the next level. This role is crucial in optimizing and advising other healthcare professionals with regards to the use of radiation to ensure safety and quality of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The role is expected to establish policies, guidelines, and measurement techniques for the determination of patient dose, and collects and analyzes clinical physics data for treatment of cancer.
What's The Role All About?
Job responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Achieving precise delivery of treatment plans and implements quality assurance programs that verify and maintain the accuracy and effectiveness of radiation therapy.
- Maintaining the accuracy of radiation detection instruments for clinical use.
- Ensuring regulatory compliance in service delivery and consistently meeting local and international standards, resulting in a safe and reliable operational environment.
- Maintaining adherence to financial and budget-related policies, processes, and ethical standards.
- Promoting excellent customer experience in delivering services in a timely, complete, accurate, efficient, and consistent manner.
Who Are We Looking For?
An effective AutoCAD Operator must possess the following skills:
- Radiation Physics & Dosimetry - Deep understanding of radiation interactions, dose calculations, and treatment planning systems.
- Quality Assurance (QA) & Quality Control (QC) – Proficiency in implementing and maintaining QA programs for radiation therapy equipment and procedures.
- Calibration & Maintenance of Equipment – Skills in calibrating and maintaining radiation detection instruments and linear accelerators.
- Knowledge of Regulatory Standards – Understanding of local (e.g., DOH, FDA) and international (e.g., IAEA, AAPM) regulations and guidelines.
- Ethical Decision-Making – Commitment to ethical standards in clinical and financial operations.
- Patient-Centered Communication – Ability to explain complex procedures to patients and collaborate with oncologists, radiologists, and technologists.
- Team Collaboration – Strong teamwork skills for multidisciplinary coordination.
- Data Analysis – Ability to analyze QA data, treatment outcomes, and equipment performance.
- Critical Thinking – Quick and effective decision-making in clinical and technical scenarios.
Ideally, a candidate must have a post-graduate degree in Applied Physics/Medical Physics, and a certified Radiation Safety Officer with completion of OJT in accordance with FDA, DOH, and PNRI code of practices to perform the responsibilities of a clinically qualified medical physicist.
